The GOP - a bunch of wimpy, spineless, pantywaists

I've come to the end of my tether with my former party.  They are cowards.

US Senator David Perdue (R-GA) joshed with the crowd at last week's Faith & Freedom Conference, “I think we are called to pray. I think we’re called to pray for our country, for our leaders and yes, even for our president. In his role as president I think we should pray for Barack Obama. But I think we need to be very specific about how we pray. We should pray like Psalms 109:8 says. It says, ‘Let his days be few, and let another have his office.' ”

His audience laughed.

The media didn't think it was so funny.  Maybe there were some reporters with as sound a knowledge of the Bible as the Faith & Freedom folks, who certainly knew that Psalm 109 goes onto say, May his children be fatherless and his wife a widow. May his children be wandering beggars; may they be driven from their ruined homes. May a creditor seize all he has; may strangers plunder the fruits of his labor."

Cue the conservative response.  From Sen. Perdue's office, a statement that he was just calling for people to pray for the president.  Breitbart's response is typical of other conservative news outlets & pundits - dismay at how "Capitol Hill Democrats twisted up a humorous comment ... to claim the senator urges people to pray for the death of President Barack Obama - and their media allies piled on."  From my own conservative friends, deriding comments about dems being overly sensitive, unable to take a joke, reading into things stuff that just isn't there.

After this weekend's violence, I've had it with these jokers.  If you are going to make a comment like Sen. Perdue's, man up to it.  To presume that folks at the FAITH & Freedom Coalition didn't know by heart the full text & context of Psalm 109 is beyond disingenuous - it is a cowardly disavowal of dog whistle words that are clear as crystal, at least to the Biblically-informed mind.

They need to shut up or at least stop being such a bunch of wimpy, spineless, pantywaists when they're called out on their not-so-subtle, shockingly hateful slams.

I am sick sick sick of conservatives saying outrageous, horrendous things, then dodging behind a lame excuse like "he was asking people to pray for our nation's leader" & "you liberals can't take a joke."  Evil hidden under a jest is still evil.
