“She’s going down”: Star GOP strategist Stuart Stevens on why Hillary Clinton won’t be the Democratic nominee    Salon   Saturday, Sep 26, 2015 08:00 AM EST

The term "she's going down" has a very clear meaning.  The person is toast, her days are numbered, she's going down for the count.  Interesting, that is not the full story, not even close.  It's lifted & ever-so-slightly tweaked from a larger comment by Stuart Stevens:

I doubt (Bernie Sanders) will be the nominee, but I also doubt that Hillary Clinton will be. I think Hillary Clinton has a superb campaign so far. Technically, her campaign staff — it’s as good as it gets. But we’ve really never seen a campaign like this; it just continues to go down. Most campaigns always stop — like, they’ll go down, they’ll go up, they’ll plateau. She’s just going down

Excuse me, Salon headline editors, but talking about her steady decline is NOT the same as what your screamer implies.

Stuart Stevens is definitely a name to remember.  He brings a different perspective to political musings, including being Mitt Romney's key 2016 campaign strategist.  OUCH!  (Buzz is Stevens thought Clint Eastwood would provide great political theater - he did, but not as intended.)

Have to wonder - if he doesn't see Hillary Clinton as the Democratic candidate, doesn't see Bernie Sanders getting the nod, which Democrat does he envision taking the nomination?  Martin O'Malley or a wild card?

Oh, to share a cuppa & a cozy confab with him at Politics & Prose
